The AEFIS Team is excited to host the AEFIS Users Meeting Anywhere (AUM-A, pronounced ‘Ohmmm’) as part of the Drexel Assessment Conference 2020. As the highlight of our Users Meeting, we are delighted to have our partners give Lightning Presentations on the work they have been doing with AEFIS in collaboration with our team.

As part of this event, we will provide our best practices blueprint which includes success strategies for managing COVID-19 disruptions and exciting insights to AEFIS Product Roadmap to help our community now into the future.
Lightning Talk Series:
“Collaboration for Sustainability: A Path Toward Continuous Improvement”

In this session, Dr. Valesey and Justin Schaffer discuss their path toward continuous improvement through engagement of faculty in curricular mapping and outcomes alignment leading to a quality assurance system for the Drexel’s School of Education.
Dr. Brigitte Valesey, Director, Assessment and Accreditation for the School of Education, Drexel University
Dr. Brigitte Valesey is Director of Assessment and Accreditation at Drexel University’s School of Education. Dr. Valesey coordinates evidence-based accreditation activities and student learning assessment practices for continuous improvement. Her activities include academic program reviews and project evaluation. Dr. Valesey is adjunct faculty in the Education Leadership and Management (EdD) program and regularly teaches research design.
Justin Schaffer, Assistant Director of Assessment and Accreditation for the School of Education, Drexel University
Justin Schaffer is the Assistant Director of Assessment and Accreditation at the Drexel University School of Education. Before joining Drexel University, Justin managed the assessment system of the University of Maryland Baltimore County during their last two successful state and national accreditations. His M.A. in Applied Sociology underpins his specialization in evaluation, policy analysis, and research in the field of education

“Leading Amidst Change: Change Management Strategies for Today’s Leaders”

In this session, Dr. Foisy discusses the challenges in leading change from his view as the incoming president of the Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE) and change management strategies leaders can employ to support the shifts and pivots higher education is making in these uncertain times.
Mr. Andre Foisy, President of AALHE & Executive Director of Institutional Outcomes Assessment, Excelsior College
Foisy is an experienced educator and higher education professional with expertise in improving academic programs through the assessment of student learning. He’s been in his current position at Excelsior College since 2018. As a board member for the Associaton for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE), Andre leads teams of practitioners in activities aimed at promoting the organization, connecting members with resources, and facilitating scholarly collaborations among members. He is the incoming president for AALHE for 2020-2021.
